After presenting at a state conference and a national conference, we found ourselves consumed by the rest of our teaching duties! We have continued to help others implement GLAD strategies, along with using them in our own classes. We will be posting pictures soon, along with brief explanations of how they were used.
We have been asked to consult at a school here in Washington, and will soon be busy planning for that presentation! We are so excited to be able to spread the word of how to use GLAD techniques in a HIGH SCHOOL setting! It can be very difficult, as GLAD is seen primarily as strategies to be used for younger grade levels. But they are not! We have both used them in all high school grade levels! This year especially, I (Brooke) have had students super excited on chart days, as they are excited to move and work as a class, and have more opportunities to ask questions and help create the chart! It's always funny when a student asks "Is there community time today?" and seeing/hearing their reaction after I tell them "Yes!". I hope your students are excited as well!
If you are interested in having us consult at your school as well, please check out our "Consulting" Tab at the top of our blog for more information!
